FED IS BEST.

Personally, I don’t care how you feed your baby. As long as you and that baby are fed, we’re all happy. Now, if you’re having problems feeding- I empathize with you and you are not alone. See, I breastfed my daughter til she was 13 months old, but also supplemented formula starting at 11 months old. These are the experiences I’ve gathered from a local mom group on Facebook as well as some friend’s personal experiences that relate to feeding that may help you and your little one.

“My baby refused to take a bottle from me, she was a ‘straight from the tap’ kind of gal, but if I warmed the milk, tucked the bottle under my armpit and slightly propped it with a blanket and kept intense direct eye contact she’d accept it. Sometimes a girl just didn’t wanna breastfeed, and that’s OKAY. Also, your baby will turn into a WWE fighter at some point and get very distracted. Early advice is to keep baby’s ears, shoulders, and hips, once they start getting more mobile it’s game over. They’’ll start feeding however they want to. ” -Sydney Mosley

“Cluster feeding will be your arch nemesis. Bottles and formula being a luck of the draw thing and having to purchase countless different ones. The bottle washer is the number 1 thing you need. Just spend the money. I promise.” -Darien Boggs

“The struggles of finding the right formula. Having to feed every 2-3hrs at night but you have a reflux baby so you have to hold baby upright for 30 mins before you can all go back to bed and then its basically just time to do it all over again.” -Chloe Dotson

“Whether you’re bottle or breast feeding make sure you get a good wide latch. Start with the bottle at the bottom of baby’s chin so they have to pull their chin down and SHOVE the nipple in their mouth. This ensures the greatest amount of surface area and best latch.” -Isaiah Mosley
